Full-time vendors work, on average, five and a half days a week, spending more than 11 hours a day preparing to sell (food prep, packaging, etc.), serving customers, and performing general business tasks…Due to seasonality, low wages and a lack of permit and license availability, three out of four part-time vendors hold a second job. Street vending creates jobs not only for vendors but often also for others: 39% of vendors are employers, averaging 2.3 full-time and 2.7 part-time workers.
